Our story

We didn't come to compete. We came so that the industry can exist.

Cannis wasn't born from a market opportunity. It was born from a discomfort: there was a law, there were patients, there were organizations doing serious work, and there was no system bringing the three together. Everyone got by however they could, and "however they could" almost always meant a spreadsheet, a WhatsApp group and a lot of good faith.

Why

The law was there. The system wasn't

Law 27,350 and its Decree 883/2020 opened a huge door: REPROCANN, solidarity cultivation, civil organizations as part of the legal circuit. What they didn't bring —because that isn't their job— was the machinery to make it work every day.

So legal access ended up depending on fragile things. On the patient finding a doctor who knew the subject. On the organization keeping its paperwork in order. On someone remembering to record the dispensing. On good luck, in the end. And whatever depends on good luck doesn't scale, can't be audited and can't be defended before anyone.

Cannis was born to replace good luck with a system. Not to tell anyone how to work, but so that what they already do is recorded, traceable and provable.

Where we stand

We are the field, not a player

It's the most important decision we've made, and the one that explains everything else.

We don't compete with organizations

Cannis has no members of its own, doesn't dispense and doesn't grow to sell. Organizations own their community, their rules and their data. We provide the system underneath.

We incubate projects

We help anyone who has a project and doesn't know where to start to set it up and get it running. One more organization takes nothing away from us: it's exactly what we're after.

We build infrastructure

What we do is what would take each organization years to build on its own, and what it has no reason to build: the application process, traceability, e-prescriptions, follow-up, reports.

To put it plainly: if Cannis does well and the sector does badly, we did something wrong. Our business is an industry that works.

Who it's for

Four people who didn't know each other

The system exists because there are four real needs that used to live apart and that, in practice, are the same chain.

The patient

Who needs a REPROCANN and doesn't know who to ask. Today they have the application online, an authorized doctor on the other side, the card and the follow-up.

The professional

Who wants to prescribe cannabis and finds no tools: no e-prescription, no way to follow a patient, no history to consult. Today they have a full practice.

The organization

Which does serious work and needs to be able to prove it: members, sites, stock, dispensing, cards and accountability reports. Today it has its own system and its Sede Digital.

The grower

Who sustains everything above and from whom the most record-keeping is demanded. That's what Cannis Pro sets out to answer.

What we do, concretely

To standardize is to write down how it's done, and then do it that way

An industry doesn't become serious because someone says so. It becomes serious when what it does is repeatable, written down and leaves a trail. That's what a system can provide and a gentlemen's agreement cannot.

  • Repeatable — the circuit is the same for everyone: the application, the prescription, the dispensing, the follow-up. It doesn't depend on who's working that day.
  • Written — every step has its form, its status and its owner. The procedure lives in the system, not in someone's head.
  • Traceable — every movement is recorded with its author and date. It's the difference between complying and being able to prove you complied.

That's why, for example, the system can produce the six-monthly medical direction and cultivation responsibility reports: they aren't a separate module, they're the result of having recorded the whole semester properly.

What has to be filed

The six-monthly report comes straight from the system

The two reports every organization has to keep —medical direction and cultivation responsibility— stop being three days of rebuilding the past. Cannis produces them from what was already recorded during the semester, ready to file with the relevant authorities.

Medical direction

Patients under treatment, prescriptions by route and by diagnosis, follow-ups carried out and the professionals involved, with their license number.

Cultivation responsibility

Cycles and batches for the period, active and retired plants with the reason, harvests, where the output went and the technical lead for each stage.

The report is signed and filed by the organization or the professional in charge. Cannis provides the record and assembles it; responsibility for the filing lies with whoever files it.

Where we are

Still a project under construction

Repronline, Cannis Health, the Portal, the Sede Digital, Cannis AI, the Searcher, the Community and the Magazine are already live. Cannis Pro is coming soon. What comes next is decided, as it has been so far, by what the sector needs and doesn't have.
